Spot Bad Trading Weather with Regime Radar

Regime Radar is a real-time technical analysis tool that helps you understand who’s in control of the markets.
What is a Market Regime?
A standard and comprehensive weather report for judging day trading market sentiment.
Market regimes represent the prevailing conditions and trends in financial markets. Our system identifies eight distinct regimes:
- Trending Bullish – Strong upward momentum with low volatility
- Weak Bullish – Upward bias but with less conviction
- Early Recovery – Initial signs of upward momentum after a decline
- Consolidation – Sideways movement in a defined range
- High Volatility – Large price swings with uncertain direction
- Bull High Volatility – Upward bias with large price swings
- Bearish Trend – Sustained downward momentum
- Capitulation – Extreme selling pressure, market bottoming process
How It Works
Regime Radar monitors key technical indicators to evaluate trading conditions:
- Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) – See where institutions are positioning relative to retail traders
- Volume Analysis – Identify when big players are accumulating or distributing
- Moving Averages – Understand whether buyers or sellers control the trend
- MACD & RSI – Gauge momentum shifts and potential exhaustion points
- Bollinger Bands – Recognize when volatility expansion favors breakout traders
- Support & Resistance Levels – Spot where the battle lines are drawn
Why Regimes Matter: Different trading strategies work in different market conditions. Trend-following thrives in bullish regimes but fails in volatile, choppy markets. Mean reversion works in neutral regimes but gets crushed in strong trends.
Shifts in market dynamics tell you which party is in the pilot seat – helping you align your approach with current conditions.
By understanding the current regime, you can better judge which of your indicators and methods to trust, and which to treat with caution. Know when momentum traders dominate, when volatility traders have the edge, or when it’s best to stay on the sidelines.
